Job summary
Looking for a candidate :
To provide leadership, guidance and support to all nursing staff within the clinical area, and continuous quality care to a specified group of patients.
To take responsibility for the management and co-ordination of the clinical area in conjunction with and in the absence of the Ward Manager.
To provide support and expertise in the assessment, planning andevaluation of all patient care within the surgical and orthopaedic setting.
To assist in the budgetary management, training and development of staff to provide high quality care which is evidence-based.
The Deputy Ward Manager will undertake the management of the ward on a day-to-day basis in the absence of or in conjunction with the Ward Manager. To provide clinical leadership and support colleagues to plan, monitor and evaluate skilled and appropriate care for surgical inpatient and ensure the provision of evidence based care. The post holder must act as a role model in providing specialist knowledge in various surgical specialities. We are looking for senior nurses to work in our division. Our Surgical division includes General Surgery, Gynaecology, ENT, Orthopedic/Trauma and elective surgery.You will work as part of a team supporting and developing colleagues by mentoring and assessing their skills.
Main duties of the job
Assist the Ward Manager in providing advice, guidance, support andprofessional leadership for all nursing staff in the clinical area.Continually assess, plan, implement and evaluate evidence-basedprogrammes of care in order to ensure the provision of a high standard ofcare.Personally deliver a high standard of care to a group of patients, acting as a team leader / named nurse and clinical role model at all times.Assist in developing the ward philosophy and framework of care in line with unit / organisational, beliefs / values and changes in surgical .. Ensure the provision of advice, support and health information to patients and their carers in order to promote a health-based service.Ensure workload of nursing staff and colleagues does not jeopardise safestandards of practice and initiate action if necessary.
