Lewisham and Greenwich NHS Trust is seeking a strategic, analytical, and collaborative Benefits Manager to join our Finance Department on a part-time basis. This high-impact role supports the Trust's financial sustainability, strategic transformation, and continuous improvement across clinical, corporate, and administrative programmes.
About the Role
As Benefits Manager, you will lead the development and enhancement of our Post Project Evaluation (PPE) and Post Project Implementation Review (PPIR) processes, ensuring benefits are clearly articulated, monitored, and evidenced. You'll also play a central role in supporting tender and bid submissions, office performance improvement, and strategic planning--helping the Trust deliver smarter investment decisions and more efficient operations.
Main duties of the job
Strategic Benefits Management Lead and refine Post Project Evaluation and Implementation Review frameworks to enhance governance and reporting. Collaborate with clinical and corporate teams to embed benefits management across the business case lifecycle. Oversee benefits realisation and programme evaluation, ensuring strategic alignment. Support development of business cases using HM Treasury's 5 Case Model and NHS assurance standards. Deputise for the Strategic Business Manager, managing relationships and promoting learning.
Tender and Bid Support Manage strategic tender and bid submissions, ensuring compliance, mobilisation readiness, and strategic fit. Coordinate cross-divisional input to deliver timely, high-quality submissions showcasing innovation and best practice. Maintain a repository of model responses and documentation, reflecting current learning and service improvements. Ensure tender activities are well-documented and meet governance standards.
Office Management and Performance Produce timely reports on operations, resource use, and performance to support decision-making. Contribute to strategic planning, identifying dependencies and contingencies. Lead improvement initiatives across document control, facilities, and workflows. Enhance management systems for improved data accuracy and accessibility. Ensure policies and governance processes are documented, approved, and updated. Promote a learning culture through appraisals, reviews, and best practice sharing

- Educated to degree level in a relevant subject (e.g. Business, Health Management, Economics, Public Policy) or equivalent experience
- Evidence of continuing professional development in business case development, evaluation, or benefits realisation
- Master's degree or equivalent experience in healthcare strategy or operational delivery
Desirable
- Postgraduate qualification in a relevant field (e.g. MBA, MSc in Health Economics or Public Sector Management)
- Project or programme management qualification (e.g. PRINCE2, MSP, Agile)
- Training in healthcare business management or project management
