Job summary
We are looking for an enthusiastic Band 3 Health Care Support Worker (HCSW) to join our Bladder ,Bowel and Pelvic Health (BBPH) Team .
The HCSW is part of the multidisciplinary team delivering care to patients. Support and supervision is provided by a RegisteredProfessional.The HCSW carries out a range of patient caretasks and duties to enable the team to provide an effective and efficient service withincommunity and hospital settings. They will deliver care to patients in clinic , in their home or nursing care homes.
This is a full-time role covering (37.5 hours per week), Mondays to Fridays.
Please note that you must have a Care Certificate issued by an NHS Trust.
Main duties of the job
The purpose of the department is to provide a high quality safe and support environment for all patients.The post-holder will be working with the bladder, bowel and pelvic health team in various roles including:
To demonstrate care and compassion to patients, carers and relatives to help ensure high-quality person-centred patient care is delivered at all times.
To carry out a range of assigned patient care tasks as directed by a Registered Professional to ensure delivery of a high quality of patient care.
To report observed changes in the patients' physical/psychological needs to the Registered Professional.
To perform a range of tests and report results to Registered Professional, e.g. urinalysis, patient observations and similar activities.
To perform a range of patient care tasks e.g. and reports any issues to the Registered Professional.
To deal with questions and enquiries from patients, carers and relatives e.g. on the clients' condition or for any suggestions or complaints that they wish to raise. Where appropriate, refer these to a Registered Professional.
Assists with the safe transfer of all patients.
Communicates/liaises with members of the multi-disciplinary team to ensure high standards of patient care.
Assist patients with activities of daily living.

Job responsibilities
Patients' assessment observations and recording/reporting findings to the registered professional.
Contribute to the provision of a safe environment for patients by ensuring departmental equipment is cleaned and well maintained and report any repairs required in line with Trust policy.
Adhering to any patient isolation requirements
Safely disposing of blood and blood products, and sharps, Cleaning up spillages.
Support effective communication by, answering telephone and personal enquiries in a clear, polite and professional manner, taking messages and referring call or enquiriesas appropriate, ensuring strict confidentiality at all times in line with trust policy.
Participating in meetings as required.
Communication with patients about the times of tests appointments.
Preparation of medical notes for appointment, in line with trust policy, as and when provided.
Provide clear verbal updates to members of the multi-disciplinary team relating to patient care.
Support the general day to day administration of the area by: Putting away stock items when delivered to the area. Reporting and recording any potential hazards and equipment repairs. Order leaflets/stationery as required, keeping leaflet racks tidy and with up to date leaflets Restocking of medicine cupboards in clinical rooms and ensuring stock levels maintained Ensure all clinical trollies and clinical areas are well stocked to agreed stock levels
To maintain patient confidentiality at all times and follow information governancepolicies and procedures.
To participate in maintaining accurate and up-to-date records, e.g. fluid intake charts to ensure effective communication.
To follow Trust policies and procedures to ensure maintenance of safe working practices for patients and colleagues.
To follow unit procedures for the use of supplies and equipment in order to promote the effective and efficient use of resources
