Job summary

We are seeking to appoint Locum Consultant Radiologists to join our friendly Radiology Team at Lewisham and Greenwich NHS Trust ( LGT) . We are seeking General Consultant Radiologists and are happy to consider applications across all specialty interests, to help complement our team and grow our services. These are new posts which will support acute clinical work and further develop the sub-specialty interests in the department as well as provide additional routine reporting capacity to our already established radiology workforce as we prepare for the activity that will be created when the two South East London Community Diagnostic Centres, hosted by LGT, become operational in March 2025.

These posts are planned to be for 1 year to allow time for a substantive recruitment process to be completed.

Main duties of the job

The general radiology commitment will include plain film reporting, ultrasound, MRI and CT work, and will have timetabled commitments in these. We will be flexible in accommodating an area of specialist interest, and with the department covering the full spectrum of imaging services the opportunities are broad. The job plan enclosed is indicative but will be tailored differently depending on sub-specialty requirements.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a vibrant and expanding radiology department. We are currently driving improvements through major transformation programmes to improve patient flows, fulfil rising demand, and install rigorous service management.

In addition to the CDC programme, we are building a dedicated SEL ENT surgical unit at Lewisham which will cater for ENT patients across South East London and we are expanding the Urology services at Lewisham. LGT is front and centre of the progress being made in Imaging in South East London and we work very closely with our network partners to drive improvements for the entire sector.
