Audiology Administrator / Receptionist

Job summary

The applicant will be applying to work within the admin team in the Audiology Department at University Hospital Lewisham. The role will be split between reception duties and administrative duties. The admin team consists of five other team members and tasks / roles are split accordingly between each member of staff.

Main duties of the job

Main duties include, amongst other things:

General reception duties. (checking in/out appointments, answering calls, managing post in/out etc).

Welcoming patients and creating a friendly and supportive atmosphere at the reception desk.

Supplying batteries and hearing aid replacement parts to patients where suitable.

Job responsibilities

We are looking for the successful candidate to grow into the role over time as their learn our practices and systems. Other roles/responsibilities that will be expected over time will include some or all of the following:

Monitoring one of our three phone lines.

Monitoring the departmental shared inbox.

Waiting list management.

Stock ordering and management.

Data entry/patient registration.

Ear mould management.

Assisting staff with hearing aid warranty/reconditioning monthly.

Monitoring weekly rota/schedules for errors.

Monitoring and managing patient discharge list/correspondence

Organising interpreters for patients as/when requested

Restocking rooms/equipment.

Working with ENT administrative staff to allow for seamless working practices between each department.

Ensuring the smooth running of day to day practices and clinics in Audiology Department.

Monitoring Audiology and ENT long-waiting patients

Learning specifics administrative service operating procedures of each of our clinical services (vestibular, hearing and tinnitus)
