Job summary
We are looking to recruit a Strategy Manager - this is an exciting opportunity to work across the Trust, with South East London partners and with patients to support the development of service-level clinical strategy, the refresh of the Trust's Green Plan to ensure we can meet national expectations and wider strategic planning and horizon scanning.
The post holder will work as part of the Strategy team to manage and support a portfolio of partnership and strategy related work. This will include, but is not limited to, supporting the work of relevant partnerships boards, facilitating teams to deliver aspects of the Trust strategy, working with clinical leaders and management teams to develop effective strategies and leading time-limited task and finish work.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will work as part of the Strategy team to manage and support a portfolio of partnership and strategy related work. This will include, but is not limited to, supporting the work of relevant partnerships boards, facilitating teams to deliver aspects of the Trust strategy and undertaking task and finish strategy development work.
The successful candidate will need to employ highly effective communication (written and oral), negotiation and influencing skills to build networks and relationships. Experience of managing competing priorities to deliver projects within agreed timeframes will be necessary. You will need a wide range of analytical skills and you must be able to demonstrate that you are a strong team player with a flexible and adaptive approach.
You will lead the design and support the implementation of strategy that delivers evidence-based solutions to our strategic priorities. This includes proactively engaging with and facilitating wide and diverse groups of clinical and operational staff, developing and delivering programme plans, risk management, overseeing budgets and business cases, and benefits realisation plans.
You will provide updates and high level communication at a strategic level to senior leaders through governance groups and wider stakeholders. You will receive highly complex, sensitive and contentious information, and be able to use it to bring colleagues to resolution and agreement.

Working collaboratively with clinical and non-clinical teams to support the development and implementation of clinical strategy
Support the delivery of the Trust strategy by managing processes to identify and monitor key milestones and deliverables across clinical divisions and wider Trust programmes
Act as a key interface between clinical divisions and other corporate teams (finance, workforce, IT and estates) in developing and progressing clinical strategy
Design and update templates for monitoring progress and work closely with divisional and corporate teams to ensure their timely submission
With the AD of Strategy and divisional teams undertake any work required to manage and deliver cross-Trust strategic priorities. This will include receiving, analysing and presenting complex, sensitive and contentious information, bringing differing views to resolution and monitoring progress against agreed actions
Negotiating, facilitating and successfully bringing contentious or differing views to resolution
Develop and support communications related to the Trusts clinical strategy including producing highly effective briefings for senior leaders to support decision-making, giving presentations to relevant groups of staff or the public and identifying further opportunities for engagement
Support existing and new partnership boards by planning the work-programme, producing updates and following up actions
Develop strong working relationships across the Trust, and with partners across the NHS and partner organisations
Provide progress reports orally and in writing to a range of stakeholders.
Lead or support task and finish strategic work or development, bringing others with you through effective, credible leadership
Liaise with divisional and corporate teams to ensure consistency and coherence between local plans and the Trust strategy
