Job summary

Trust Clinical Fellow (ST3+) in General Paediatrics:

This post is an ideal opportunity for a suitably qualified individual looking to develop skills within a busy general paediatric department in London. The position will also allow the candidate to continue to meet their training and education objectives within their clinical responsibilities.

The candidate would take part in the general paediatrics rota for 12 months until 01 September 2025.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will be responsible for the day to day management of patients under the supervision of a consultant paediatrician.

Qualifications

Essential

  • MB BS or equivalent medical qualifications
  • MRPCH/MRCP (part I)
  • Full current GMC registration

Desirable

  • MPCH Part II

Training and Experience

Essential

  • NLS/APLS/PALS Course
  • Significant experience in recognised Paediatric SHO training post and must have appropriate neonate experience at SHO level
  • Outpatient experience of at least 20 (post registration) paediatric clinics

Desirable

  • Paediatric A&E post middle grade Experience

Clinical Skills / Knowledge

Essential

  • Able to work without direct supervision where appropriate, according to level or experience
  • Sound manual dexterity and competent routine practice procedures as expected for experience
  • Clear Logical thinking/shown an analytical/scientific approach Understanding of evidence informed practice

Organisation & Planning

Essential

  • Ability to organize oneself, to manage time and task and prioritise clinical need within limitations of experience. Experience and ability to work in multi-professional teams

Audit

Essential

  • Through understanding of principles of medical audit
  • Evidence of participation in audit project

Teaching

Essential

  • Experience of teaching and exam preparation and case presentations

Desirable

  • Teaching of medical students, nursing staff and other professional groups
