Job summary
As part of the Emergency Planning Team, the post holder' main duties will be to provide specialist support in the delivery of Emergency Preparedness, Resilience and Response (EPRR) training and exercises across the Trust.
Accountable to the Deputy Emergency Planning and Business Continuity Manager, the post holder is part of the Trust's Emergency Planning Team who are responsible for ensuring the Trust meets its requirements under the Civil Contingencies Act 2004 and the NHS Emergency Planning Framework 2022
Main duties of the job
The post holder will be required to work alongside the current substantive Training and Exercising Officer and they shall deliver the training and exercising programme for the trust.
The post holder will be responsible for planning, preparation and presentation of EPRR training programmes and exercises across the Trust, including specialist CBRNe response training, although this can be provided to support your role. The post holder will also assist with maintaining and reviewing some of the Trust's response plans.

Job responsibilities
- Providing specialist support for the delivery of EPRR training and exercises
- Delivery of major incident induction training for all staff
- Assisting in specialised training for major incidents and CBRNe / Hazmat decontamination
- Assisting with maintaining EPRR equipment and resources
- Maintaining CBRN store and ensuring all equipment is in good working order, including arranging servicing of equipment
- Assisting in the planning and delivery of both major incident and business continuity exercises
- Writing and distributing post exercise reports
- Scheduling events with relevant stakeholders and booking the appropriate rooms and catering when required
- In liaison with the Trusts Training Department, updating records of attendances at training and exercises
- Ensuring the After Actions Plan is maintained and reminders are sent to the appropriate lead when actions are overdue
- Ensuring the EPRR training and exercise calendar is maintained for both internal and external events
- Liaising with internal and external stakeholders with reference to Trust led training or exercise events.
- Taking the minutes and organising the EPRR steering group meetings
- Assist the Emergency Planning Team in maintaining up-to-date computerised register of all major emergency/internal incident plans and policies and procedures
