Job summary

An opportunity now exists for our department to increase our nursing associate workforce. We are looking for an associate nurse with paediatric experience who is interested in extending their skills in a Children's ED environment working alongside a varied nursing workforce, Paediatric Emergency Consultants, ENP's and GP's.

Main duties of the job

The successful candidate would be working alongside the nursing establishment to provide care to patients aged 0-16 and their families in a busy, fast-paced department. Applicants must like a challenge, respond well to the demands of a busy department, have good communication skills and enjoy working at a fast pace in a multidisciplinary team. They would be able to work a full rotation of shifts, LD's and Nights.

There is an opportunity to complete extended skills within the department such as venepuncture & cannulation and application of plaster casts. The department encourages and supports professional development and the successful candidate would be able to take advantage of in-house study days required to fulfil the requirements of this post.

As a Registered Nursing Associate (NAR) who has knowledge and experience across the lifespan, four fields of nursing and has worked in a variety of settings; the post holder will support and facilitate holistic, person centred care. They will work independently within their sphere of practice under the professional oversight & direction of the Registered Nurse and contribute within the multidisciplinary team.

The role of the Nursing Associate as an accountable professional is to promote health and prevent ill health through the provision and monitoring of care whilst working in teams; contributing to integrated care and improving the safety of quality of care.

The post holder demonstrates:
