We are looking for an enthusiastic, organised person to support the education needs of the medical students in the Trust. This post will look after the day to day queries of medical students plus medical work experience students.
At least 1 year's experience of undergraduates in a hospital environment is essential along with supervisory experience.
This role can be based at UHL or QEH and involves supervising staff on both sites.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will be required to provide support for all aspects of the administration of the clinical component of the MBBS programmes and its supporting structures. The appointee will also need to ensure all Lewisham & Greenwich NHS Trust (LGT) teaching is in accordance with the University of London's contract. Additionally, this post will also provide support to medical students from the University of Nicosia.

Key Result Areas
- Assist with the control of the delivery and quality maintenance of student assessment, the post holder will need the skills to provide appropriate direction of Medical Consultants in this area, and have the ability to advise assessors on marking/appraisal and assessment structures in order to maintain a uniformed standard.
- General responsibility for the smooth management of all medical students on University Hospital Lewisham site. Including clinical elective placements.
- Support KCL (Kings College London) with placing overseas medical students in line with Trust guidelines.
- Assist with facilitating financial accountability regarding MADEL funding for the Medical School in accordance with the Universitys contract for teaching provided at LGT eg travel expenses.
- Control of administrative/reporting /statistical support for the organisation of the clinical components of the MBBS Curriculum to the LGT DUMEs and Leads of Year 2, 3, 4 and 5 based at LGT, including room bookings and updating block timetables
- Organise and support formative OSCE assessments for years 2 and 4. Support and participate in summative OSCE for years 3 and 5.
- Assist with coordination and support of the Simulation Sessions for medical students.
- Provide administrative support for the development of the Student Selected Components. This includes developing and maintaining a database and liaising with Medical School representatives as appropriate.
- Liaise with Consultants and Senior Academics within the Medical School to record/organise/distribute such schemes as StAR lists and the academic performance of students, their personal well being, illness, absence, or any other mitigating circumstances which may have a bearing on the students participation/performance on the course.
- Organise in house undergraduate faculty meetings and attend campus medical student related meetings. Ensure agendas are prepared with relevant supporting documentation, take minutes and follow up action as required.
- To represent the Trust at related Medical School committee meetings if necessary.
- To reschedule and make adjustments to the teaching programmes during rotations as necessary and to evaluate each sub block to make improvements if necessary
- Oversee all medical work experience students, including health clearance, honorary contracts, timetables and activity schedules.
- Maintain undergraduate medical student electronic and paper records including CAT registration system.
- Oversee the work of the Assistant Medical Undergraduate Administrators.
- Support the Site DUMEs, where necessary in matters of MBBS programme.
- Provide a general enquiry and counter service for all MBBS students dealing with all queries relating to their placement.
- Support the Nicosia DUME to ensure all administrative paperwork including timetables are provided for year 5 and 6 medical students. Participate in OSCEs for both year groups.
- To assist as required with other work undertaken within the Postgraduate Medical Education department including covering for annual leave and sickness.
