Job summary
Reporting to the Associate Chief Nurse, Workforce and Education, the post holder will lead and co-ordinate Trust wide activities and workstreams associated with post registration education. The post holder will ensure the efficient and effective delivery, development and quality assurance of the academic components of the LGT Clinical Academy (CA). The post holder will be a senior leader of the Clinical Academy.
The post holder, working with internal and external stakeholders, to build upon existing capacity, capability, and platforms to refresh the approach to post registration nursing education. Both with university accreditation and short internal courses for staffing development.
The post holder will monitor academic provision against agreed targets and objectives. The post holder will also need to work with and develop relationships with internal and external key stakeholders.
The post holder will lead the LGT Clinical Academy, setting strategy and leading the wider post registration education team.

Key Roles & Performance Areas
o Lead on the development and implementation of education and development programmes within area of responsibility for nurses, ensuring effective use of the Clinical Academy resources.
o Be responsible for developing own skills and knowledge and contribute to the development of others.
o Monitor and improve standards of education through audit, research, and supervision of practice.
o Use nursing metrics and other KPI's and identify opportunities for improvement in patient care and safety.
o To develop and maintain effective working relationships with multidisciplinary staff across the Trust, including senior practitioners, managers, health professionals and support staff to engage with Clinical Academy educational opportunities.
o To identify educational gaps through training need assessments while supporting new course development opportunities within the remit of post registration.
o Divisional Training Needs Analysis (TNA) annually and how this informs the Clinical Academy's work programme and future delivery.
o Provide timely and comprehensive updates and reports to the relevant meetings committees and key stakeholders.
o To follow at all times and promote the highest standards of professional practice as laid down in the NMC Code of Conduct and the behavioral expectations and to ensure all staff in their sphere of responsibility also meet these standards.

Workforce and Partnerships
To scope, understand and manage the workforce implications of implementation of quality, metrics, and accreditation programmes
As a senior member of staff carry out investigations into Employee Relations issues in other areas of the Trust if required
To ensure that educational programmes of work are communicated using any opportunities available, i.e. Intranet, Trust communication, social media and other regular meeting forums.
Support systems to improve the learning of Adult students within the Trust within the remit of Post registration education.
To participate in develop and sustain relationships and networks with external Higher Educational Institute partners
Be active member in Trust meetings forums and committees presenting updates to them as required and as needed.
Provide expert advice to a range of colleagues across the organisation on portfolio areas and responsibilities.
Preparing high level reports and more detailed reports relating to the clinical academy business for external / internal committees and divisional meetings.

To constantly strive for value for money and greater efficiency within the services.
Where relevant to link quality improvement programmes to the delivery of cost improvement programmes.
To propose changes throughout the Trust and identify improvements in educational resource utilisation and financial savings.
