Job summary
An opportunity has arisen for a 12 month secondment within the Trust's Financial Management Team, for an experienced Assistant Divisional Accountant.
This opportunity is for someone who is able to provide an excellent customer service to both budget holders, budget managers and other internal / external customers.
The ideal candidate will have previously worked within Finance Departments , be actively working toward a finance qualification and have excellent communication, organisational and IT skills and be committed to working flexibly in a team.
Please ensure you meet the person specifications and have the relevant experience for this role.
The post holder will be cased at the Catford offices and will be required to work across all sites.

Main duties of the job
The post holder will provide support to the Finance Business Partner and Deputy Finance Business Partner in the production of monthly management accounts and in providing ongoing advice to budget holders on managing and understanding their expenditure variances.

The purpose of the role is to
- To prepare, on a monthly basis, timely and accurate budget and expenditure reports for the Directorate and to contribute to the production of summarised expenditure statements for the Senior Management Team.
- To provide a monthly analysis of the budgetary position for specific budget areas and to investigate variances.
- To provide and present financial management information, analysis and advice to budget holders and other senior staff throughout the Trust to ensure the development of robust financial forecasts.
- To work with budget managers and budget holders to develop an awareness of financial performance requirements and of the need for budgetary control.
- To provide input to the costing, pricing and financial planning activity of the Trust.
- Recommend improvements and changes to local working practices and proposing department wide policy improvements
- To ensure that budget holders receive all relevant financial information relating to their budgets in a form that will be understood and to respond to ad hoc queries relating to budgets.
- To promote compliance with the Trusts Standing Orders and Standing Financial Instructions within the Directorate.
- To identify own development needs and interests and to suggest areas for learning and development as part of the personal development review process
- To participate in and feedback on all relevant training and education that relates directly to the departments objectives.
