An exciting opportunity has arisen to become an HCA on Ward 1 at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Woolwich
If you are a caring individual who prioritises assisting patients with personal care, safety, and their well being, then this is the right job for you. The ward is very busy, accommodating patients with various conditions, as it functions as an Acute Medical Unit. Therefore, interested candidates should have resilience and passion for the job
Main duties of the job
- Work as part of the multi-disciplinary team in giving an excellent standard of care to a variety of different client groups.
- To assist in the regular assessment of patient condition by observing vital signs and reporting findings back to qualified staff.
- To support the promotion of health and prevent ill-health in staff, patients and their relatives

- Assisting patient with undertaking dressing.
- Assisting patients with / undertaking the cleaning of teeth / dentures
- Offering regular mouth care particularly for those patients who are nil by mouth.
- Assisting patients with / undertaking the cleaning of hair and nails (finger and toe nails)
- Assisting patients with / undertaking eye care
- Removal, cleaning and re-insertion of prostheses
