Junior Clinical Fellow - Core Surgical Training Equivalent Year

Job summary
This is an innovative post rotating through clinical departments giving a broad exposure to surgery mirroring the Core Surgical Training Programme.
This is a standalone one-year post of clinical rotations in surgical specialties and is structured and administered as per the core surgical training programme to allow full or partial sign off via a certificate of equivalence. These posts are at junior clinical fellow level equivalent to CT1. For this reason, applicants must have undertaken work in the NHS in surgical specialties prior to application. This must be equivalent to completion of the Foundation Programme and ideally additional work in a surgical specialty at 'FY3/junior clinical fellow' level post Foundation competency sign off where possible.
With successful engagement and local appraisal (equivalent to an ARCP) there will be an opportunity to extend to a second year of rotations with a view to obtaining certificate of equivalence sign off.
You will be encouraged to maintain an equivalent portfolio which could be used to demonstrate experience equivalent to one year of the CT programme or consider a second year of rotations.

Main duties of the job
The post will be working over both Guys and St Thomas' sites. It is a requirement of your employment that you be prepared to work at any additional or different location owned or served by the trust, on an on-going or temporary basis according to the demands of the service. This post currently involves on call work, including weekend and evening working, either within the basic working hours or via supplementary payment.
