We are seeking a Band 7 Physiotherapist to join our Clinical Exercise and Physical Activity Team within Guy's Cancer Physiotherapy Service. Our team is dedicated to delivering high-quality, person-centred rehabilitation for adults living with and beyond cancer, supporting patients to remain fit for treatment and active throughout the cancer journey. The Exercise and Physical Activity Team provides specialist rehabilitation services at Guy's Cancer for patients treated at the centre across South East London.
We deliver a range of services including group-based exercise programmes and one-to-one rehabilitation, both virtually and within our dedicated rehabilitation gym. The team is also actively involved in research and real-world implementation, contributing to the advancement of exercise oncology practice.
The successful candidate will be able to work autonomously, undertaking comprehensive and holistic assessments, and developing tailored treatment plans. You will demonstrate excellent communication, organisational, and IT skills, alongside a strong commitment to service development and collaborative working with key stakeholders.
Main duties of the job
- To provide physiotherapy leadership for the Clinical Exercise and Physical Activity team at GSTFT. The Team consist of Physiotherapists and Advanced Technical Instructors.
- To lead in the advanced assessment and treatment of patients in the out-patient setting who are with a primary diagnosis of cancer including those who have highly complex and / or chronic presentations
- Determine clinical diagnosis and treatment indicated and to maintain associated records, as an autonomous practitioner.
- To take a lead role in the further development of the clinical exercise and physical activity service.
- To lead on data collection and evaluation of the exercise and physical activity service
- To take a lead role and be responsible for operational management, staff development, implementation of the exercise and physical activity interventions and to set and monitor standards of practice, including delivering on service developments and research deliverables.
