Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced, caring and highly motivated radiographer to work as a Senior Pre-Treatment Radiographer at Guys Cancer Centre.
We are looking for a radiographer with an excellent technical background and strong leadership attributes to work in a progressive Pre-Treatment department, with sophisticated scanning and planning techniques. This includes motion management through EEBH, 4DCT, DiBH, advanced contrast enhancement methodologies and an Eclipse virtual simulationsuite.
We operate a forward thinking, multimodality imaging approach for many patients and routinely operate our service in MRI and PET.
The departments routinely operate extended day working and shift patterns apply for machine service days and unscheduled service interruptions.
Bank holiday and weekend working take place in line with the department and service operational needs. Participation on the on-call rota is arequirement of this post.
Main duties of the job
To join the Pre-Treatment team to effectively deliver the service with the support of the Team Leader and Section Lead radiographers.
To maintain excellent patient centred care at all times in line with the trust values.
To uphold high standards of accuracy and quality in all aspects ofpre-treatment, including preparations, patient positioning, CT scanning, contrast delivery, virtual simulation and working in MRI.
To ensure thatrotating and student radiographers are supported in their learning and to drive service development.
About us
The Radiotherapy Service serves a catchment population of approximately 1.6 million and is the provider of radiotherapy for the six London boroughs - Bexley, Bromley, Greenwich, Lambeth, Lewisham and Southwark. The service also receives national referrals from St John's Skin Clinic, based at GSTT, for patients requiring specialist skin radiotherapy, Total Skin Electron Body radiotherapy (TSEBT). The service also provides TBI and stereotactic radiotherapy, body and intracranial treatment, and for a very small number of private patients. The service delivers in excess of 52,000 radiotherapy treatments and works in closest collaboration with colleagues at King's College NHS Foundation Trust, Lewisham and Greenwich NHS Trust and Oxleas NHS Foundation Trust.
