Job summary

The duties and responsibilities of the post-holder require service delivery in a wide range of clinical environments to a diverse patient population.

As part of a 24/7 imaging service, the post-holder will provide radiographic support in areas such as the Emergency Department, Theatres, General X-ray, Fluoroscopy, the Neonatal Unit, and Intensive Care Units across both hospital sites. The rotation will include periods of lone working at certain times within specialist areas.

Radiology operates a 24/7 service, and the role includes participation in an out-of-hours rota covering nights, weekends and bank holidays.

  • Evidence of multidisciplinary team working
  • Experience in Emergency Department Imaging
  • Experience in Operating Theatre environment
  • Experience in student supervision / mentoring
  • Experience of working out of hours (weekends / night shifts)
  • Understanding of 'Pause & Check' Procedures

  • Ability to wear a lead protective apron (0.25mm pb equivalent) for a prolonged length of time, whilst x-ray guided procedures are undertaken.
  • Ability to wear infection control PPE for a prolonged length of time, in line with the Trust infection control policy.
