We are seeking a Deputy Head of International and Private Patients to leadEvelina London's private paediatric and international services--a key strategic priority that supports innovation and reinvestment into NHS care.These services have grown rapidly in the last five years and have ambitious plans for future growth.
Evelina London is entering a major period of expansion, including the integration ofRoyal Brompton paediatrics, the transfer of children's cancer services from The Royal Marsden, and the development of the Evelina Children's Hospital programme. The postholder will play a key role in developing commercial opportunities to support this expansion and further develop our private patient services.
This role will suit leaders from NHS and private healthcare with a strong operational experience, a strategic mindset, commercial awareness and a passion for outstanding patient experience. The role provides opportunities for progression within NHS commercial services, international healthcare and the independent sector. It would also be suitable for NHS operational leaders looking to develop their commercial and strategic expertise.
Main duties of the job
The Deputy Head of International and Private Patients will provide senior operational leadership for Evelina London's private paediatric and international services, supporting the continued growth and development of this strategically important portfolio.
Working closely with clinical, operational and commercial colleagues, the post-holder will lead the development and delivery of initiatives that enhance the quality, access and experience of private and international care, ensuring services operate efficiently alongside busy NHS pathways while maintaining the highest standards of patient care.
The role will provide leadership to operational and administrative teams within the International and Private Patients service. Through a team of operational managers, the post-holder will drive service improvement, transformation and business development programmes that support sustainable growth and outstanding patient experience.
The role requires exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills to build effective partnerships with clinicians, corporate teams and external stakeholders. The post-holder will operate confidently in complex clinical environments, balancing the needs of private and international patients with the operational realities of a large NHS organisation.

Private patient activity within the Evelina London Clinical Group takes place across several sites within Guy's and St Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust.
Key locations for the delivery of private and international services include:
o Evelina London Children's Hospital, an internationally recognised centre of excellence for paediatric care, receiving complex referrals from across the UK and overseas.
o The Westminster Private Maternity Suite at St Thomas' Hospital, providing high-quality private maternity care within one of the UK's leading centres for women's health.
o The Assisted Conception Unit (ACU) at Guy's Hospital, an internationally recognised fertility service providing private treatment to both UK and overseas patients.
o Private outpatient and diagnostic facilities across the trust, including Westminster Bridge Private Consulting Rooms at St Thomas', consulting rooms at Royal Brompton Hospital, and the Wimpole Street diagnostic and outpatient facility in the Harley Street medical district, which supports a growing portfolio of specialist services including private women's health.
Evelina London forms part of Guy's and St Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust. Following the merger with Royal Brompton & Harefield NHS Foundation Trust in 2021, private patient services across the organisation have been brought together to form one of the largest and most comprehensive private patient programmes within the NHS, supporting both UK and international patients.

Acting as a key point of contact for consultants across a portfolio of specialties, they will provide proactive account management, strengthen consultant engagement and identify opportunities to expand and develop private and international services.
