Main duties of the job

This is a role which will be key to the Trust's role as leader and influencer in South East London and to achieving Essentia's strategic ambitions. The role is a crucial post in ensuring that GSTT is compliant with legal and statutory requirements and that all fire safety regulations under current codes of practice are addressed across a complex and multi-site organisations by the provision of fire safety advice and support to GSTT.

The postholder: Responsible for ensuring the Trust is compliant with their legal and statutory requirements and that all fire safety regulations under current codes of practice are addressed across a complex and multi-site organisation. Be the Trusts site lead expert for fire safety providing expert professional advice to the Trust board and senior management on all current fire safety legislation and RRO. To lead, provide expert specialist and professional fire information service for all capital projects, provide advice to other clients/partners, directors and senior management of the trust. To develop and lead on policies, strategies and for implementation of the Trusts fire compliance annual mandatory programme. To continually improve reporting systems in order to maintain a safe environment for patients and staff Supporting the effectiveness of comprehensive fire safety training programme, for all types of staff at all levels in the Trust. Carry out financial and budgetary responsibilities as part of the fire safety team senior management. Carry out R&D projects for the fire safety manager Carry out Audits of buildings, equipment, and training. Planning for future development of audits, training, and assessment programs Accountable and responsible for the planned delivery of a suite of fire safety training to all GSTT colleagues and external bodies requiring fire safety training.
