Job summary
ENT at Guy's provides tertiary referral head and neck cancer, skull base, rhinology/facial plastics and otology, laryngology / voice and paediatric services. It also provides general secondary level ENT services to Lambeth and Southwark. This post will involve collaborative working with the sleep service, which is the largest sleep medicine service in the country.
A full outpatient and inpatient general ENT service is provided by twenty consultants to the Guy's & St Thomas' Hospital sites. Cover is also provided to King's College Hospital.
The service includes emergency and elective work, for both adults and children. The department has many areas of special interest including rhinology, facial plastic surgery, skull base surgery, paediatric airways, otology, cochlear implantation, voice surgery and benign and malignant head and neck surgery.
Main duties of the job
This is a full time ENT consultant post with a special interest in Rhinology. The postholder will also be expected to carry out some general ENT surgery.
The post will be based at Guy's and St Thomas' Hospitals. Work is also carried out at King's College Hospital, and it is a requirement of your employment that you be prepared to work at any additional or different location owned or served by the trust, either on an on-going or temporary basis according to the demands of the service.
To take an active part in undergraduate and postgraduate teaching and training, and to contribute to the management of the clinical service and service development.
To participate in clinical and other service activities with the object of ensuring a high standard of patient care.
