We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Band 7 paediatric occupational therapist to join our specialist regional service for children and adolescents with neuro-developmental differences and complex behavioural feeding disorders as part of the paediatric neurosciences team for the Newcomen Neurodevelopmental Service, Evelina London Children's Hospital. This is a 0.6 wte,fixed term post, which will end 31.09.2028.
This is a unique opportunity to work as part of a close-knit team delivering high-quality, family-centred occupational therapy for children and young people with neurodevelopmental difference.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will contribute to specialist assessment, diagnosis, and management of children with complex neurodevelopmental disorders, and work within a multidisciplinary team supporting children with behavioural feeding difficulties (excluding dysphagia). The role requires close partnership with community therapy teams and other agencies. Our service has a strong national and international reputation.
The post holder will assist senior colleagues with audit, teaching, and supervision, and is expected to engage with current research and national policy. Regular supervision and professional support will be provided by senior therapists at Evelina London.
About you:You will be a motivated, skilled occupational therapist looking to develop expertise in autism and neurodevelopmental conditions. You will be confident using standardised and non-standardised assessments to build a child's neurodevelopmental profile and guide intervention to optimise occupational performance. You will work with community teams to support independence in self-care, school, and play, and collaborate with families.
You will have experience working within multidisciplinary services and the ability to critically evaluate research, apply evidence to practice, and clearly communicate clinical reasoning to families and local teams.
