Job summary

We have the opportunity for two experienced cancer nurses (one full-time and one part-time) to join our Acute Oncology Service as a B7 Nurse Practitioner position. The role gives the successful candidate the opportunity to gain the skills required to work as a Band 7 within the Acute Oncology Service.

The successful candidate will work in partnership with the members of the multidisciplinary Acute Oncology team. They will have a key role in the Acute Oncology Service and use their expert knowledge to manage patients with acute oncological presentations, implement and evaluate seamless specialist care at the highest standard.

The role is multifaceted and the post holder with be required to support the 24/7 Acute Oncology Service telephone triage line, on-site day shifts including weekend working and remote night shifts covering the out-of-hours telephone triage line, as well as providing cross-cover for the St Thomas Acute Oncology Clinical Nurse Specialist when required.

As part of the interview process, successful candidates will be given10 minutes to prepare a short presentation (5-10 minutes) based on apreviously unseen clinical scenario, which will be provided on the day.

No additional materials or devices are required, and you will be provided with paper and pen for preparation.
