While employed by Guys and St Thomas NHS Foundation Trust, this role holder will be working jointly for both NHS London Procurement Partnership (NHS LPP) and North of England Commercial Procurement Collaborative (NOE CPC).
Main duties of the job
- Develop and execute procurement growth strategies at NHS trust level that maximise value for the trust be that through reducing cost, increasing quality, improving outcomes or complimenting their resource
- Add clarity to the NHS procurement landscape, in doing so creating awareness of the portfolio's available from NHS LPP, NOE CPC and our affiliate contract providers
- Drive spend through NHS contracts, keeping funding within the NHS and contributing to the overhead costs of NHS LPP and NOE CPC
- Lead cross-functional matrix teams to identify new business opportunities and optimise existing initiatives. Work with the internal teams at NHS LPP and NOE CPC to ensure that resource is made available promptly
- Work with Procurement Business Partners at NHS LPP and Account Management within NOE CPC to integrate new clients and diversify existing client portfolios
- Analyse market trends, competitor activities, and customer insights to shape innovative strategies
- Forge strategic partnerships and collaborate with key stakeholders to enhance business performance
- Oversee and manage growth-focused projects, ensuring alignment with objectives
- Deliver on ambitious growth targets through creative problem-solving and data-driven decision-making
- Mentor and guide teams to enhance their contribution to the overall growth of NOE CPC and NHS LPP
- Help subsidise the NHS through diversification of client base across the wider public sector
About us
Please note that as an organisation NHS LPP has been hosted by Guy's & St Thomas' (GSTT) NHS Foundation Trust since 2012 and provides the legal framework and supporting services under which NHS LPP operates. However, NHS LPP is a membership organisation funded and governed by its members and not GSTT. NHS LPP staff are employed by GSTT.
NHS LPP develops and manages collaborative procurement projects on behalf of its members including acute, community and mental health trusts, as well as CCGs. NHS LPP has a number of members outside of London. This role requires the postholder to manage collaborative procurement within the normal NHS membership but also working with other public sector bodies, advising and managing their procurement processes to deliver benefit to the wider public sector. The organisation will continue to develop as a centre of commercial excellence that delivers significant and sustainable cost and service improvements to all stakeholders primarily in the London NHS economy but also outside London.
