Main duties of the job

The Evelina London Children's Hospital would like to invite applications for the post of Clinical Fellow in Paediatric Endocrinology and Diabetes. The post will be offered on a six month contract in the first instance, with potential to extend.

The successful candidate must be able to participate in a full range of daytime clinical activities. They will play a significant role in the management of inpatients, as well as expected to deliver regular outpatients clinics. The post offers unique training opportunities in Paediatric Endocrinology and Diabetes, including exposure to treatment and management of Rare Bone Disorders. A range of services are provided from secondary care for local population, through to specialist care provision. There will be the opportunity to participate in research, teaching and audits.

Successful candidates must be medically qualified and have experience within the field of Paediatric Endocrinology and Diabetes. They must also have obtained full registration with the General Medical Council.

Essential

  • MRCPCH (UK) part 1 and part 2 or international equivalent qualification(s).

Desirable

  • CCT/CST in paediatrics

Clinical Experience

Essential

  • Proven record of experience at ST 4-5 level paediatrics or equivalent.

Desirable

  • Previous paediatric endocrinology and diabetes experience at SpR level (ST5+)

Other

Essential

  • Evidence of understanding of and adherence to the principles of Good Medical Practice set out by the General Medical Council.
  • Evidence of contribution to effective clinical audit and clinical risk management.

Desirable

  • Experience in clinical guideline development.
  • Appraisal training.

Knowledge and Skills

Essential

  • Ability to work as an effective member of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Level 3 Child protection training.
  • Paediatric life support training (APLS/EPLS or equivalent).
