Job summary
This is a full-time 10 PA cardiologist post in Adult Congenital Heart Disease (ACHD). The appointee will work closely to deliver clinical services shared across the sites of the Royal Brompton Hospital, Chelsea, London SW3 6NP, St Thomas' Hospital, Westminster Bridge Road, London SE1 7EH, and Harefield Hospital, Hill End Road, Harefield, Uxbridge, UB9 6JH.
Main duties of the job
The post-holder will be a fully trained, independent consultant cardiologist specialising in Adult Congenital Heart Disease (ACHD), capable of leading outpatient clinics autonomously. They will possess expertise in teaching echocardiography and performing peri-procedural transoesophageal echocardiograms. Additionally, the role involves active participation in multidisciplinary team meetings and contribution to on-call rotas. The successful candidate will provide support across three sites, with their primary base at Royal Brompton, where they will supervise resident specialist trainees and clinical fellows in the daily delivery of high-quality patient care.

Qualifications and Training:
Essential
- UK trained applicants must hold a Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) in cardiology or be within six months of award of CCT by date of interview. Non-UK trained applicants must be on the specialist registrar.
- Full and Specialist registration (and with a licence to practice) with the GMC.
- MRCP or equivalent
Desirable
- Higher degree (MD, PhD or equivalent)
Clinical Experience
Essential
- Specialist training in Adult Congenital Heart Disease
- Evidence of thorough and broad training and experience in relevant speciality
- Able to take responsibility for delivering service without direct supervision

- Further expertise in relevant sub-specialty: heart failure, cross-sectional imaging/echo, paediatric/adolescent CHD
