Job summary
The post holders will be responsible for the assessment, planning and provision of Psychosexual treatment/counselling. The post holders will provide clinical supervision to other staff, students and may undertake research, lead clinical audits in own specialist area. Ensuring the safety and well being of services users, and always working in a manner that promotes dignity and human rights through the adoption of person centered care principles.
Main duties of the job
The Counsellor specialist in Psychosexual Therapy is required to manage a caseload of clients presenting with a variety of sexual and relationship complaints. They are to assess and then provide ongoing psychosexual therapy to the individual or couple. When necessary they will refer on to other specialist disciplines or services in particular for medical advice or assessment. The post holders is to maintain client records and confidentiality. The posts involve working both independently and also as part of a multi disciplinary team.
