Consultant in General Internal Medicine - Winter ward
3 MONTHS ONLY WINTER WARD POST
Full Time - 10 PAs per week
As Winter pressures continue, we have identified the need for additional consultant support for our inpatient services this Winter. These posts will therefore primarily support the delivery of care to medical inpatients. Depending on your specialty interests there may be opportunities to participate in a small amount of specialty work, acute or geriatric medicine including the unselected acute medical take, ambulatory care or engage in a more specialty specific activity. The primary focus of these posts though will be on providing medical care to inpatients on Winter ward.
Main duties of the job
To provide high quality, innovative and cost-effective acute medical care for patients in the 28-bedded General Medical Winter Ward on the St Thomas' site.
To work with clinical colleagues in the GIM, Medical Sub-Specialties and Community Services to deliver seamless medical care.
To participate in clinical and other service activities with the aim of ensuring high standards of patient care.
To contribute to the educational, management, development and governance needs of the clinical service as requested.
To establish, promote and contribute to the research base through working collaboratively to answer key questions about service design, delivery and development.
Workload follows RCP guidance for General Internal Medicine.
