Job summary
The post holder will work closely with the Private Outpatient Sister and multidisciplinary team members in monitoring and maintaining excellent clinical standards of nursing practice and staff development as part of the team.
The post holder is to take charge of the clinic as required and is expected to competently carry out all relevant forms of care without direct supervision, and is required to demonstrate procedures, supervise qualified and/or unqualified staff whilst maintaining a safe working environment and in keeping with.

The post holder is expected to work as an effective and responsible senior nurse, supporting others in a flexible and approachable manner and to contribute to the development of the facility.
The post holder will ensure compliance with clinical governance and will take part in any inspection requested by statutory bodies such as Health and Safety or CQC if required.
The post holder will act as one of the Health and Safety officer and Fire Marshall for the clinical areas whilst on duty.
Main duties of the job
o Developing the patient pathway to ensure that the patient is prepared physically and psychologically to undergo necessary procedures.
o Leading by example to ensure that the rights, dignity, and confidentiality of the patient are protected at all times.
o To manage the total nursing care of patients within the department competently and be responsible for professional actions.
o Provide the full range of nursing services, including cannulation & phlebotomy, ECG, blood pressure measurement, glucose monitor, urinalysis checks, wound care and any other procedures relevant to gynaecology conditions.
o Ensure that treatment and consulting rooms are tidy and prepared including preparation of equipment clinical notes and supplies as required.
o Ensuring the patient records are completed in a timely and accurate way and that nursing documentation is maintained accurately including electronic records.
o Effectively liaise with the extended multidisciplinary team whenever a patient requires intervention in the various departments to promote a smooth patient journey.
o To use evidence-based practice, quality assurance and clinical audit in all aspects of nursing care.
o Identify and report, clinical risks any accidents/incidents, near misses involving staff, patients, and visitors in accordance with Trust policies and assist in any investigations as required.

Assist your Line Manager in investigating any complaints in conjunction with the Head of Nursing and Outpatient Clinical Services.
Address verbal complaints immediately with the aim of resolving at local level.
To have a working knowledge of Clinical Governance within the clinic and participate in conducting nursing audits to achieve the agreed standards.
Working within flexible rosters, designed to achieve the most effective use of staff to meet the needs of our patients.
