Senior Clinical Fellow in PROMs for Prostate Cancer

Job summary
The post would suit a doctor who has completed at least 7 years of postgraduate training (equivalent if overseas), ideally post-FRCR or equivalent, or post-CCT. The position offers an opportunity to gain exposure to the application of PROMs in clinical practice, which can help inform and enhance clinical decision-making, ultimately leading to more patient-centered care.
The post holder will gain hands-on experience in implementing and managing a PROMs programme in a real-world clinical setting. They will be expected to collaborate with others to develop strategies to improve patient and clinician engagement with the programme, while also addressing potential health inequalities. Additionally, the post holder will contribute to the Prostate PROMs research projects and will be encouraged to present in national and international meetings
Main duties of the job
To develop and optimise the PROMs programme for patients with prostate cancer across the south east London cancer network.
To provide support for patients participating in the PROMs programme.
To develop educational materials and training for both clinicians and patients regarding PROMs.
To collect data and contribute to the establishment of score thresholds of clinical significance that can aid the clinical utility of the PROMs.
To contribute to a feasibility study assessing the impact of identified strategies on patient outcomes and adherence to the programme among patients and clinicians.
To contribute to the department's record in producing national and international peer-reviewed work.
To participate in clinical and other service activities with the object of ensuring a high standard of patient care and to contribute to service developments.
To take part in undergraduate and postgraduate teaching and training.
