Research engagement is a key theme underpinning the nursing and midwifery strategy at GSTT and a national NHS priority. This is an exciting opportunity for a clinical nurse or midwife with an interest in research and digital innovation. In collaboration with the AI Nurses Network, this fellowship will also provide an opportunity to develop digital knowledge and skills related to use of AI and to understand and apply AI in professional practice.
The Corporate Nursing team, under the leadership of the Chief Nurse is responsible for thedelivery and administration of the statutory and professional portfolio of the Chief Nurse. The collective portfolio includes leadership of the Nursing and Midwifery profession, with a focus on being visible and clinically credible.
In December 2022, the Trust launched 'A Centre of Research for Nurses and Midwives' (ACORN). ACORN provides a single point of contact for research advice and support for all Nursing and Midwifery staff across all stages of the profession to facilitate their engagement in research. The vision is to ensure that the nursing and midwifery workforce contribute to and lead in the provision of outstanding, evidence-based patient care and to ensure that nurse and midwife led research is embedded within the culture of the Trust, at both team and individual level.
Main duties of the job
The post-holder is responsible for providing project management and support to ensure outputs are delivered effectively.
The post holder will take a lead on specific projects or aspects of a project. With responsibility for day-to-day delivery, and subsequent performance management, adjusting plans as required to ensure that risks and issues are mitigated.
The post holder will work with clinicians and managers to ensure provision of the best possible patient experience and service delivery.
The post holder will work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders to ensure effective management of interdependencies and delivery of objectives.
It is expected that the specific projects managed by the post holder will change over time as the portfolio of work changes.

Support the development of project plans and the delivery of agreed milestones and objectives.
Provide project management expertise to the individuals in the project team and ensure that the leads have clear responsibilities, priorities, timescales and track delivery.
Organise project meetings, ensuring that regular meetings are established, reports are produced and disseminated in a timely way and actions are followed up.
Lead service level workshops with admin, management and clinical teams. Produce presentation material and follow up information to introduce change projects and delivery plans.

Manage a delegated budget for own area of work to ensure best value for money, including signing off invoices, monitoring expenditure and providing budgetary reports.
Actively monitor expenditure against budget and address problems at an early stage.
