Using machine learning (ML)-driven Urology Triage Platform (UTP) to help address the increased Urology referrals of an ageing population directly addresses two of the industry research grand challenges of AI -supported initiates and innovation to support an ageing population and is consistent with the NHS long term plan pledge of 'digitally enabled' outpatient care becoming mainstream. Our previous work with Demdx has demonstrated a ML technical and clinical Urology Triage Platform (UTP) with developed ML algorithms to optimise clinical pathways can be potentially trained to a range of supervised learning models using a combination of SNOMED symptoms and anonymised past medical records as the independent variables and the diagnosis as the dependent variable.
