Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced nursing assistant looking to develop their clinical skills as a Band 3 Senior Nursing Assistant in the Early Pregnancy and Acute Gynaecology Unit.

This role will be based in EPAGU, North wing, St Thomas's Hospital and is part of Evelina Women's services. This is an exciting opportunity to work within a highly renowned and innovative multi-disciplinary team at one of the UK's leading teaching Hospitals. We are looking for an enthusiastic, confident, and motivated individual with excellent communication skills.

As this role is part time it will not meet the home office threshold for sponsorship

You will be required to provide evidence of Completion of Care Certificate (Theory and Practice)

Main duties of the job

EPAGU is an emergency/ outpatient setting where women are treated for early pregnancy complications and acute gynaecology issues. Many of these women experience pregnancy loss, therefore, it's crucial to make sure these women's have the best patient experience.

Job responsibilities

EPAGU looks after women within an out-patient/ same day emergency care setting. This service also works closely with the gynaecology ward, ACU, FMU, GPs, A and E and MacNair outpatient department by triaging and accepting referrals for women who need urgent care. The successful applicant will be expected to work in partnership with the EPAGU team, Sister and Matron to provide support in order to deliver high quality and efficient care to our patients. As a senior nursing assistant you will be expected to role model Trust Values and Behaviours and demonstrate professionalism, positivity and enthusiasm at all times

Successful applicants will demonstrate experience in conducting vital signs, pregnancy tests, urinalysis, chaperoning procedures and examinations and restocking and procurement.

We are open 7 days a week. Shift pattern for senior nursing assistant below:

Monday to Friday 08:30 - 19:30

Saturday to Sunday 09:00 - 16:15
