Job summary
We are offering a Clinical Fellowship in Neuroradiology Imaging at Guy's & St Thomas' Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.
This post is suitable for a senior trainee who has completed their FRCR examination, and is open to a candidate who has completed their specialty training (post CCT) but wishes to develop further subspecialty training in Neuroradiology.
This post is primarily dedicated to Neuroradiological imaging, however, a small component will include general acute imaging, with an emphasis on acute CT and MRI spinal reporting. There is the potential to attend Kings College Hospital Neurosciences unit, however, this is not as yet confirmed as a formal component of the post.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will expected to carry out the following:
7 sessions of dedicated Neuroradiology imaging including: supervised acute and out patient MRI reporting, multidisciplinary meeting preparation and attendance (General Neurology, Paediatric Neurology, Pituitary, Carotid and Opthalmology MDM's).
2 sessions will be allocated to general acute reporting, with an emphasis on acute CT and spinal MRI imaging. 1 session will be allocated to supporting professional activities e.g. administrative duties/ audit.
About us
The Department of Radiology sits within the directorate of Clinical Imaging and Medical Physics (CLIMP). Joint Clinical Directors lead the directorate supported by a General Manager and Head of Nursing. The Department of Radiology management team includes a Clinical Lead Radiologist and a Head of Radiology Services.
The Directorate supports the development of the AHSC through its participation in the Imaging and Biomedical Engineering Clinical Academic Group.
The Radiology Department delivers imaging in multiple locations across 3 main sites, St Thomas' Hospital, Guy's Hospital, and the Evelina Children's Hospital. There is a full RIS and PACS system (Sectra) linking all the Departments allowing image interpretation from any site. The Departments are linked with video-conferencing capability. There are PACS links to other hospitals in the region to allow combined review of patients.
The Department has an asset base of in excess of £25m with state-of-the art image acquisition capability and interventional facilities. The Department performs in excess of 500,000 examinations per annum with CT accounting for approximately 88,000 examinations per annum.
