Job summary
This role plays a vital part in implementing the NHS London Procurement Partnership (NHS LPP) vision & strategy, approved by the NHS LPP Steering Board, and in delivering the aspiration of the Managing Director and Board to become a world-class procurement partner of choice for the NHS and the wider public sector. This role is a fast changing, challenging, high profile strategic and influential role that will lead and develop the day-to-day operation of what is in the main, a best-in-class procurement and category management function. The postholder will play a pivotal role in NHS LPP, anticipating and responding to external challenges, whilst meeting the requirements of stakeholders at local, regional and national levels. The successful candidate will have a unique opportunity to drive commercial efficiency across the NHS while making the landscape less fragmented, easier to use and more sustainable.
Main duties of the job
Lead and develop the commercial strategic direction of the Procurement category workstreams (including Clinical Digital Solutions; Estates, Facilities & Professional Services; Medical Healthcare Pharmacy Services; Workforce). Lead the Procurement Shared Services teams including Contract Management, Procurement and Strategic Supplier Relationship Management. Work with customers and members to ensure that they receive innovative and timely expert advice and delivery support. Alongside our affiliates, work to ensure that NHS LPP's proposition supports national and political direction and agenda, driving better patient outcomes and systemic reform.
Represent NHS LPP at the NHS LPP Steering Board. Deputise for the Managing Director of NHS LPP when required.
Act as a strong leader, respected by key stakeholders and other senior key decision makers of stakeholder organisations. Work collaboratively with all stakeholders and partners to secure their ongoing support and commitment to NHS LPP and deliver a year-on-year positive return on investment for all member organisations.
