We are seeking an organised, proactive, and personable individual to join our Surgery Clinical Outcomes Team. The ideal candidate will possess excellent time management skills, the ability to adapt to unexpected demands, and a knack for building positive relationships with consultants, patients, and other healthcare professionals. You will be expected to work multi-site, across both Guys and St Thomas hospitals.

What We're Looking For:
  • Data Savvy: Strong analytical skills and proficiency in Microsoft Excel are essential. Candidates invited for an interview will complete a short Excel test to demonstrate their skills.
  • Personable and Outgoing: Comfortable liaising with consultants, nurses, and patients, fostering collaboration within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Organised and Adaptable: Ability to manage competing priorities, respond to sudden challenges, and maintain a high level of organisation.
  • Understanding of Clinical Outcomes: Familiarity with the purpose and importance of clinical outcomes is highly desirable.

Main duties of the job

The Outcomes Administrator is responsible for submitting and tracking data to monitor patient outcomes. This role involves managing data entry and maintaining compliance with local and national benchmarks.

Job description

Job responsibilities

  • Support the collection, validation and submission of data to national registries and national audit programmes, such as the National Joint Registry, British Spine Registry and the Breast and Cosmetic Implant Registry etc.
  • Ensure that national data entry deadlines are met promptly.
  • Contact patients to encourage them to participate in completing outcome measure forms.
  • Work with consultant surgeons regarding completing relevant data collection forms with missing information.
  • Assist the department in other data requests or collection of information, such as local audits.
  • Locate, collect and book patient notes in and out of the department as required.
  • Complete general clerical duties such as scanning, filing, collection and opening of mail.
  • Assist in providing cover for other staff in the directorate to ensure continuity of service.
  • Deal with enquiries from patients, staff and visitors courteously, efficiently and tactfully, referring to appropriate staff when necessary.
