Job summary
The post holder will be responsible for supervising the Sterile Services Technicians and Team Leaders as part of the production function and will ensure a reliable, technically sound, and effective service to our users.
To succeed in this role you will need to possess significant knowledge of the decontamination processes and procedures and a minimum of 3 years in a team leading role.
The department is responsible for the full decontamination of medical devices and the disinfection of endoscopes and other non-invasive products. We are a quality registered organisation with the following British and European quality accreditations: ISO 13485, Directive 93/42/EEC Annex V, and ISO 9001:2008
The post holder may be required to work in a flexible manner on rota (including working weekends and night shifts) in order to achieve the overall objectives of the department and to perform other duties that commensurate with this grade.
Main duties of the job
- To supervise the receipt, inspection, cleaning, disinfection, packing, sterilization and distribution of medical devices, procedure packs and raw materials, checking quality at each stage.
- To supervise the operation of, and when necessary, to operate sterilizers, washer disinfectors, heat sealers and any other machinery used within sterile services.
- To record and report defects on any part of the processes within sterile services.
- To fully participate in developing improvements in quality andefficiency of services.
