Job summary
The Post CCT Fellow posts are suitable for anaesthetists who have finished their training and want further experience in a sub-specialty area. They provide an ideal transition from trainee to consultant, with posts allowing service provision at consultant level as well as advanced specialist training. Some previous fellows have gone on to be appointed as substantive consultants within TAP or helped to find career progression elsewhere.
Main duties of the job
The successful applicant will spend a minimum of half job-planned time per week in their specialty area of interest. This time will be divided into clinical work allied to the fellowship of interest with the option of some of the time spent developing research education and teaching allied to the specialist area. The remaining half of their job planned time would be to provide anaesthesia at consultant level. This will be as required by the service needs of the department and expertise of the candidate. The service element may increase with time if the post-holder is happy to run lists in their specialist area. On call commitments may be discussed if required.
