Job summary

Join our exciting department as the Lead Nurse in CPOAC (Central Pre-Operative Assessment Centre) with additional deputing role to Head of Nursing. The post-holder will work with the Head of Nursing, the Clinical Director, the General Manager, and colleagues to continually improve and develop successful services within the CPOAC

Aligning with the Trust strategic agenda and local, regional, and national specialist network agendas the Lead Nurse will work collaboratively with the Head of Nursing to direct CPOAC plans for the service.

Holding a pivotal leadership role in the department, the post-holder will lead on risk management, patient safety and clinical governance issues within CPOAC. In collaboration with the Clinical Governance Lead for Quality and interfacing into the Trust patient safety strategy, they will ensure that patients are actively involved in the development of services and the monitoring of quality.

This is a 2-year secondment/fixed term role. The first 12 months of the role will be focused on improving and developing the services within the CPOAC. Following this the role will expand to increase to Deputy Head of Nursing portfolio to encompass other responsibilities with the department including supporting the Head of Nursing with the wider department.

Main duties of the job

As a key representative ofCPOAC for the organisation, the successful candidate will contribute to relevant projects within the Trust as a whole and the wider networks. The post-holder will work collaboratively with the Head of Nursing, the Service Manager, and the Clinical Director to identify opportunities for and lead service development across the organisation. These will be specifically aimed at improving theatre utilisation, efficiency and quality whilst maintaining high quality, patient, and family experience of specialist care, concentrating on delivering a holistic and family centred approach.
