Job summary
The continence service works across Lambeth and Southwark in the community and within the acute trust, to provide a high-quality comprehensive specialist nurse service for patients with bladder and bowel problems. The team provide care across the continence pathway working collaboratively with the acute hospital services. We are looking for a lead nurse to offer specialist knowledge, clinical expertise and dynamic leadership. Supporting and leading the service to deliver across the acute trust and through into the community ensuring that the patient is at the centre of the delivery model. Clinics are run at different community sites and at the Guys and St Thomas sites. The service is in a period of transformation and aiming to remodel and adjust to fully meet the needs of the patient groups.

Main duties of the job
Through strong clinical leadership and their own clinical practice they will supervise and support the team to provide and promote excellence in clinical care. To ensure that all patients are treated with compassion, dignity and respect. To promote best practice in the safe delivery of clinical care to patients in all the different clinic venues, deploy the best service models according to patients' needs and local arrangements, ensure partnership working and risk management. Promote high standards of care, prevention and control of infection.
To actively coach and support all members of the team to work and use the multi-disciplinary approach to patient needs. Ensure that staff members receive relevant clinical and professional supervision, foster service innovation, staff development and accountability.
About us
The Integrated Local Services directorate within this clinical group provides a range of community and inpatient health services for adults within the communities of Lambeth and Southwark, with some services also provided in Lewisham. Our hospital-based inpatient and outpatient services provide care for adults from across the region.
The services provided by the directorate include Neighbourhood Nursing, Specialist Rehabilitation and Reablement (bed and home based), Palliative and End of Life Care, Adults With Learning Disabilities service, Homeless and High Intensity User services, Refugee and Asylum Seeker service, Tobacco Dependence Treatment service, Weight Management service, GSTT@Home, and site administration services. Services are delivered in various locations including health centres, community bed-based units, patients' homes and a range of other community locations. Our inpatient hospital services serve the Guy's and St Thomas' sites. Our services work closely with all inpatient teams at Guy's and St. Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust and King's College Hospital, and collaborate closely with social services, mental health services and the voluntary sector.
