Job summary
An opportunity has arisen for a Band 6 Children's Clinical Research Nurse, on a 12-month fixed term basis, to join our dynamic and friendly Paediatric Genetics Research team to support and lead on the delivery of high quality, holistic care to children and young people participating in paediatric genetics research studies. Evelina London is the first children's hospital to be rated as outstanding by the Care Quality Commission (CQC). The paediatric clinical research team continues to work to this level of excellence and all team members will have the opportunity to contribute to this work.
Main duties of the job
As a Children's Research Nurse you will be working with the wider multidisciplinary team across commercial and non commercial studies to deliver a seamless pathway for patients participating in research trials/studies.
You will be responsible for the holistic nursing care of children / young people and their families on existing and new clinical trials and contribute to the assessment and management of their care pathways.
This will involve leading on study set up activities, screening, recruiting, educating and monitoring children and young people in studies as well the collation and documentation of study data. You will be trained to take informed consent for selected studies which do not involve a medicinal product.
We provide a comprehensive induction programme and actively encourage opportunities to develop new clinical and leadership skills . The normal working hours for the post is Monday - Friday 9am- 5pm although flexibility may be required accommodate patient visits and assessments outside of these hours.
