Job summary

This is an exciting opportunity to work as a Senior Data Analyst within the AI, Data & Digital Innovation function of the Chief Medical Officer's Office (CMO). The role is part of a team of data science, technology, and digital transformation experts within the King Health Partners (KHP) group.

The team works on externally funded programmes that develop data platforms and AI to enhance patient diagnosis and treatment, improve workflows, and drive healthcare research. This includes the London Artificial Intelligence Centre for Value-Based Healthcare, a consortium led by Guy's & St Thomas', King's College London, and King's College Hospital, in partnership with multiple NHS Trusts and universities.

You will have the opportunity to apply NLP technology to real-world healthcare research, developing advanced skills in data science. Using CogStack and the OMOP data model, you will surface clinical data from electronic health records, optimising analytics workflows to support both research and administrative use cases.

The role involves collaborating with clinicians and researchers, conducting statistical analyses, preparing research protocols, and contributing to the development of innovative data science solutions for healthcare research challenges. You will play a key role in unlocking the potential of electronic health records to advance medical research and improve patient care.

This post is fixed term until October 2026.

Main duties of the job

  • Manage all aspects of data collection, analysis, insights, and visualisations to support project and programme delivery.
  • Collaborate with clinicians and researchers to develop research protocols and inform decision-making processes.
  • Use data analysis to identify patient cohorts, support service evaluations, and enhance research projects.
  • Query and analyse data using the OMOP data model within the CogStack platform, executing research queries and generating reports.
  • Prepare and maintain high-quality datasets, ensuring consistency and accuracy for research and operational use.
  • Conduct statistical analyses on extracted data and create visualisations for presentations and reports.
  • Become an expert in the Trust's Electronic Patient Record (EPR) and other clinical records systems to provide insights, analysis, and data visualisation.
  • Work with multidisciplinary teams across clinical and academic settings to optimise existing analytics workflows.
  • Apply NLP techniques to extract information from unstructured clinical text, supporting research and administrative needs.
  • Assist in preparing research protocols, ethics applications, and maintaining documentation of data extraction and analysis processes.
  • Demonstrate our team's analytical capabilities to stakeholders and contribute to the development of innovative data science solutions for healthcare research challenges.
