SPECIALIST SENIOR CLINICAL DIGITAL FELLOWSHIP IN HEAD AND NECK ONCOLOGY
Full Time 40 hours per week

Specific purpose of the post
Guy's Head and Neck Cancer Centre has established a number of innovative projects focused on transforming care for patients with head and neck cancer, to deliver the right care, at the right time, taking into account individual patient needs.
This post is a one year fixed term post focused on real world data and AI applications in Head and Neck Oncology. The post-holder will develop real world databases of head and neck cancer patients and contribute to the development of AI tools in HN Radiotherapy. The post would suit a doctor with 7 complete years of postgraduate training (equivalent if overseas), at least post FRCR or equivalent or post-CCT seeking exposure to data analytics and applications of AI in Radiotherapy. The post-holder will also assist other members of the research team with recruitment of patients, project work and analysis as required and will contribute to the integration of clinical data with the tissue bank.
The postholder will have exposure to complex HN radiotherapy and will provide subspecialty training in HN Oncology.
The postholder will be expected to contribute to the HN Oncology unit research outputs/audit projects and will be encouraged to present them in national and international meetings.
Main duties of the job
Overall purpose of the post
- To assist in the development and implementation of AI tools in the Head and Neck Oncology unit.
- To maintain clinical data collection in HN Oncology.
- To develop independent proficiency in HN organ and tumour delineation, curation of datasets and evaluation of AI tools.
- To participate in ongoing Head and Neck research and development.
- To review of data of HNC patients, including tumour and toxicity outcomes, radiotherapy dosimetry and outcome measures such as Patient Reported Outcome Measures (PROMs) and patient experience.
- To work with colleagues from the HN Tissue Bank to ensure data collection harmonisation and aid monitoring of patient recruitment.
- Work with colleagues from RT and the Clinical Scientific Computing group towards the completion, maintenance, development and analysis of the XNAT and clinical databases.
- To contribute to the department's record in producing national and international peer-reviewed work.
- To contribute to the maintenance and update of Head and Neck clinical protocols.
- To participate in clinical and other service activities with the object of ensuring a high standard of patient care and to contribute to service developments.
- To take part in undergraduate and postgraduate teaching and training.

Guy's Cancer Centre
Guy's Cancer is a joint cancer centre with King's College Hospital that offers a full range of services for the diagnosis and treatment of all adult cancers. Patients from across south east London attend for treatment which is not available at their local hospital.
