Job summary

We are looking for an enthusiastic and committed administrator to work in the Children and Young People's Audiology Centre based in St Thomas' Hospital in the community arm of Guy's and St Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust.

Main duties of the job

We are seeking to recruit an organised and methodical team member with excellent communication and interpersonal skills. You will be the first point of contact for the Paediatric Audiology and Newborn Hearing Screening teams, covering reception and responsible for booking appointments, scheduling clinics, recording and collecting data and liaising with parents and professionals.

Job responsibilities

  • Act as the first point of call for all patient access queries.
  • Be responsible for the scheduling of outpatient appointments.
  • Actively monitor waiting lists.
  • Liaise with families to ensure that a mutually convenient date and time is agreed.
  • Ensure that families are appropriately reminded of their appointments.
  • Provide a courteous and efficient point of contact for families by telephone and email.
  • Ensure that each parent is treated as an individual and their individual needs are met.
  • Liaise with screeners and audiologists as necessary to ensure the smooth running of clinics, escalating queries to relevant clinicians and managers.
  • Attend, participate in and take notes of team meetings.
  • Ensure all clinical systems are updated appropriately.
  • Ensure clinical supplies are provided to our different sites.
