Job summary
We are seeking an experienced, enthusiastic and ambitious manager to join our team in the post of Service Manager for Clinical Haematology and Haemphilia & Thrombosis services.
We are looking for someone dynamic and innovative, with excellent prioritisation and problem-solving abilities, and a collaborative approach. You'll work closely with consultants, nurses, AHPs, managers and admin & clerical staff across the directorate and the Trust.
It is an exceptional opportunity for someone who is looking to broaden their operational management skills and develop their leadership approach further. You will report to the Deputy General Manager for the directorate and be accountable to the General Manager. The post will be based at Guy's Hospital.
As a directorate, we support models of hybrid working for our staff.
Main duties of the job
The postholder will work very closely with the matrons and clinical leads as part of the Service Management Teams for our Outpatient and Inpatient services. The post holder will lead on a range of initiatives to improve all aspects which contribute to care quality and patient experience. They will be responsible for managing performance, budgets, activity and administrative functions for these services.Additionally, they will share responsibility for the management of our consultant establishment, ensuring patients with a range of haematological diagnoses are able to access specialist care and support.

The Directorate consists of Clinical Haematology, Haemophilia &Thrombosis, Cellular Pathology, Onc Health Clinical Trials, Dimbleby Cancer Centre, Mortuary & Bereavement and Chaplaincy services . The directorate also comprises one inpatient ward and day unit based at Guy's hospital. Our challenge is managing increasing activity and complexity whilst maintaining patient centred Care.
