Consultant in Locum Consultant in Paediatric Immunology and Infectious Diseases - Long Term Sickness Cover
£84,559 to £114,003 p.a excl. of LZ

Main duties of the job
This is a locum post for six months. It consists of 9 PAs for Paediatric Immunology and Infectious Diseases (PIID) at Evelina London supporting the care of children and young people across Evelina's services.
Applications will also be considered from those wishing to work part time or on a job share basis.
About us
Every year Evelina London cares for around 104,000 children and young people across the Children's Hospital and community sites. There are over 155,000 outpatient visits, 30,000 emergency department attendances and 6,000 babies born each year. There are 281 beds. Specialist paediatric services include: cardiology, respiratory, gastroenterology, endocrinology, metabolic medicine, renal (including a large haemo- and peritoneal dialysis service and renal transplantation programme), allergy, neurology, dermatology, haematology, neonatology, rheumatology, and haemoglobinopathy. Paediatric surgical specialties include general surgery, ENT, cleft, ophthalmology, orthopaedics, urology and plastics. There are two paediatric intensive care units including cardiac ICU, and Evelina is the home of the South Thames Retrieval Service (STRS). These services are supported by dedicated paediatric clinical support services including specialist pharmacy, play specialists, physiotherapy, occupational therapy, speech & language therapy, acute pain service, anaesthetics, clinical psychology, nutrition & dietetics, palliative care, radiology and nuclear medicine (including PET under general anaesthesia). We are one of a small number of hospitals with a paediatric ECMO service.

The PIID team at the Evelina London Childrens Hospital has a close working relationship with colleagues in Microbiology, Virology, Adult Infection and Infection Prevention and Control.
The ID Consultant team currently comprises seven consultants (4.4 WTE) with two clinical senior fellows, a research fellow and a team of three Clinical Nurse Specialists.
This post involves a weekly attending rota (approximately 1:5) Monday-Friday on call (non-resident), and currently involves a 1:5 weekend on call (non-resident) rota.
Applicants should be MRCP/MRCPCH qualified and have extensive training and experience in general paediatrics and paediatric infectious diseases.

- On GMC Specialist Register or within six months of attaining CCT in paediatric diabetes and endocrinology or equivalent

Clinical experience
Essential
- Extensive experience of managing Paediatric Immunology and Infectious Diseases, e.g. minimum 24 months WTE.
- Experience in working within an MDT

Clinical skills
