This exciting opportunity has arisen on Samaritan Ward for a permanent position. The successful candidate will work alongside the nursing team, with the support of the ward sister and senior leadership team in ensuring the highest standard of care is delivered to all our patients.
We aim to provide outstanding and specialised care to our Haematology-oncology patients who are undergoing new and innovative treatments and come to us from across the country for our specialist services.
You will work as part of our highly skilled team and closely with an extensive multidisciplinary team to ensure our patients receive the highest quality of care, and learn new things every day.
You will also have the opportunity to complete the Systemic Anti-Cancer Therapy Course which will allow you to administer chemotherapy independently and develop your clinical skills!

Main duties of the job
On Samaritan Ward we care for patients with a range of Haematology and Oncology cancers, sickle cell disease and other haematology related disorders. Our aim is to provide expert care to patients and their families along their treatment journey. We are looking for nurses wishing to develop their leadership skills and come join us on this exciting journey in caring for our patients.
Applicants must hold the mentorship or equivalent, chemotherapy course and ideally have experience in shift management as this role involves shift co-ordination. You will be expected to carry out audits, quality rounds and teaching on the ward.
This unit requires a highly skilled workforce and staff will require experience in caring for patients with cancer or sickle cell disease. Staff will be required to administer chemotherapy and will contribute to the exchange blood transfusion service. Experience of this will be an advantage but training will be provided.
All applicants must have NMC registration and experience in Haematology Oncology.
