Job summary

The Research and Development department within Guy's and St Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust are recruiting for an R&D adminstrator to support our non-commercial governance team. This is a superb opportunity for someone for a part-time job - 22.5 hours a week - in a friendly and ambitious team who has an interest in clincial research.

Main duties of the job

You will be an experienced administrator with excellent communication skills who has an eye for detail, who is willing to learn new skills and enjoys liaising with colleagues and staff at all levels. You will highly organised and methodical approach to your work. We are looking a well motivated individual, who after training, has the ability to work without direct supervision and to use their own initiative to support the researchers and colleages in R&D.

About us

The working hours are flexible; the successful candidate could compress them into fewer days over a Monday - Friday period. However, to maintain the service to our researchers the successful candidate will need to work part-time Monday-Friday between 8am -6 pm. This is an in office-based role, the requirement is to work on the 16th floor at Guy's Hospital (London Bridge site) but some working from home may be considered once the post-holder is fully trained.

Job responsibilities

The post holder will be responsible for providing adminstrative support to the R&D Governance team, which means the role is varied and tasks may include coordinating meetings, managing the R&D inbox, managing the study close down processes, for example.

The post-holder will work with R&D amendments team, reviewing simple amendments to the approvals of research studies, who will provide effective document control by maintaining up-to-date, transparent and easily tracible documents and information on the R&D database (EDGE). The post-holder will be working in a friendly team of R&D Coordinators & Facilitators who oversee all amendments to research and will be a key point of contact to our research teams across the hospital. This role in the Research and Development presents a training opportunity for an administrator who wants to develop their skills and interests in clinical research management.
