An exciting opportunity to work as a specialist in Oral Medicine and Gastroenterology service at Guy's and St Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust.The services incorporate the management of patients with Orofacial granulomatosis, Inflammatory Bowel Disease and Hepatitis.
The Gastroenterology services at encompasses the management of patients with Hepatitis and Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD). The IBD centre at Guy's and St Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust is internationally renowned for its expertise and serves as a tertiary referral centre for the region and beyond.
Our extensive multidisciplinary team (MDT) including consultants, registrars, clinical nurse specialists, specialist pharmacists, dieticians, psychologists and research staff, work closely in a dynamic and supportive environment to deliver high quality clinical care and research.
We are looking for an enthusiastic, experienced and committed clinical pharmacist to join our oral medicine, IBD and gastroenterology pharmacy team. You will be working with the current team of pharmacists and wider oral medicine and gastroenterology MDT to support the management and monitoring of IBD patients.
Main duties of the job
This role will encompass a variety of tasks and will include managing patients prescribed immunomodulators and biologic treatments in various settings be it via virtual or in a face to face clinics, or on the ward. You will play an integral role in developing the innovative services we provide.

Key activities of the post holder will include:
Delivering the pharmacist-led outpatient monitoring clinics for Inflammatory Bowel Disease
Delivering the pharmacist-led monitoring clinic for Oral Medicine
Management and review of patients receiving biologic treatments administered at home
Drug expenditure analysis, financial reporting and supporting the MDT to complete individual funding requests
Management of the pharmacist-led patient helpline
Provision of clinical support to gastroenterology inpatients
Induction and training of registrars, specialist nurses, junior and pre-registration pharmacists
Supporting development of local pathways and protocols to help improve patient management and transfer of care to GPs

Job Summary
