Job summary

/We are looking for an experienced strategic leader to help us deliver our ambitious and exciting plans for women's and children's services across South Thames and the South East of England. The Evelina London Clinical Group is part of Guys and St Thomas' Foundation Trust and leads the delivery of women's and children's services across the Trust including across our Royal Brompton and community sites. The Clinical Group operates with autonomy both operationally and strategically but within the context of the bigger Trust.

To lead the development and delivery of the strategy and vision for women's and children's services you will need to be able to work across multiple complex agendas developing strong partnerships across our system including with relevant ICBs, our academic partners and the Guys and St Thomas' Foundation.

As Programme Director for the Children's Hospital Programme you will have the opportunity to lead a major capital and transformation programme helping to make our strategic ambitions for specialist children's services a reality.

You will be a senior member of the Evelina London Executive providing leadership across the Clinical Group both within your areas of responsibilities and beyond ensuring there is a focus on long term delivery and strategic service development. Main duties of the job

This Director of Strategy is a senior member of the Evelina London Executive Committee which has devolved responsibility for the operational delivery and strategic development of Evelina London Women's & Children's Healthcare. The post holder is a member of the Evelina London Board, and of various Trust-wide executive committees, and represents Evelina London on a range of partnership bodies. Children's services are one of Guy's & St Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust's strategic priorities. The post leads across the Clinical Group's strategic agenda, across a wide range of external partnerships, and across clinical and academic missions. The portfolio is wide-ranging, including clinical services strategy, , research and innovation and fundraising. In addition to leadership of their portfolio, the post holder is expected to lead on specific initiatives across the Clinical Group, as a member of the senior leadership team including the Programme Director role for the Children's Hospital Programme.

  • Ensure that Evelina London plays an effective and leading role in the development of local place-based partnerships and service transformation programmes, working in collaboration with partners to establish new service, business and operating models that will deliver improved value for women, children, young people and their families and long term system sustainability and In particular to ensure that Evelina Londons input to Partnership Southwark and Lambeth Together is co-ordinated and impactful.
  • Act as Programme Director for the Childrens Hospital Programme (CHP), a £200m capital development programme developing an OBC and associated plans for a new childrens hospital adjacent to Evelina London, working with the GSTT COO as Senior Responsible Officer and leading the CHP team.
