Job summary
We are looking for a Cardiac Physiologist who is ready to take the next step in their development to join our team at Harefield Hospital (Part of Guys and St Thomas' Foundation Trust).The candidate should be a qualified Cardiac Physiologist with clinical skills and knowledge incardiac rhythm management (CRM) inclusive of electrophysiology and implantable cardiac devices.
Harefield Hospital is a specialist heart and lung hospital and transplant center. Within the cardiac catheter labs we operate a very busy primary service - it would be ideal for the candidate to participate in the provision of a 24/7 on call rota.
This role attracts RRP of £5,275 in addition to the basic salary (not pensionable), which is subject to review on the 31 March 2024.
Main duties of the job
To be able to perform a broad range of clinical and technical investigative procedures within the Cardiological field.
To be a clinical role model who assists in the provision and management of efficient and effective Cardiac Electrophysiology and Device services at Harefield.
To be a source of specialist knowledge across Cardiac Electrophysiology and Devices, with a remit to contribute towards the organisation's position as a centre for developing and implementing best clinical practice.
To play a major role in the training, continuing professional development and overall performance of all staff in CRM and the wider Cardiac Physiology Department.

- Demonstrable experience within a CRM discipline
- Experience of a wider range of invasive and non-invasive techniques involved in the assessment and therapy provision for patients with cardiac disease
- Can participate in the wider needs of the department (on-call), when required to do so
Desirable
- Independent practitioner within EP / Devices, competent in the use of either: (I) conventional EP procedures and a 3D EP mapping system technology or (II) follow up and implantation of complex implantable cardiac devices
- Able to demonstrate teaching and supervisory experience
Knowledge/Qualifications
Essential
- BSc Clinical Physiology (Cardiology) / Healthcare Science (Cardiology) or have the AHCS Certificate of PTP Equivalence
- RCCP / AHCS registered or eligible to register
Desirable
- Specialist qualification within CRM - either BHRS, IBHRE or EHRA in EP or Devices or both
- Working towards a postgraduate qualification relevant to the Cardiology discipline (PGCert/PGDip/MSc)
- To be competent in the Physiologist's role in both electrophysiology and complex devices
- Keen to work toward STP equivalence with the AHCS with a view to registration with the HCPC as a Clinical Scientist
